How to Maximize on Your Videography Package

We’ve attended, recorded and assisted planning, multiple weddings over the years. We love the process, and love capturing the completed vision on the day of, even more! With that being said, we’ve seen couples compromise and do what they feel is expected according to past weddings they’ve witnessed, or had external input give voice to. Often times, that has lead to a lot of under utilized time frames, that could have captured a lot more of their wedding day. Instead, too much time was given to one area of coverage, while another receives none at all. For example, no one, and I mean no one, needs more than 1 hour, 2 hours max, of bridal party and couple photo’s/video coverage. Having photos of your bridal party is great, but you might use 5 of those shots as wall decor and memoirs. In the mean time, you’ll end missing out on capturing a complete documentation of all those loved ones who attended your wedding to celebrate your incredible covenant to one another. This is just one example of time poorly utilized. So we took it upon ourselves, as much as in our experiential bank, to provide mock schedules for the timelines we offer, within our video packages.

When we go to record someones wedding, our hope is to capture the best of the best, in the timeline our clients have chosen. In order to help those who hire Bread and Wine Films for their wedding day videography coverage needs, we’ve created some mock schedules that you’ll find below. Depending on what other videographers provide for timelines, these may also be applicable for them, too. There is a timeline for each of the available packages that we currently offer, and each one maximizes on the time each couple will be provided. We hope this offers insight and anticipation, for all the wonder that can be relived for years to come.

Other ways to maximize on your video coverage

You’ll notice that there was no groomsmen coverage mentioned in these schedules. Mainly, that is because the groomsmen get ready within 15 minutes, and then chill until the ceremony, anyway. The magic happens with the Bride, and groomsmen shots can be “posed” during bridal party photo/video coverage. However, most of the lack of groomsmen coverage happens because of bridal parties often getting ready at different locations. When it is planned like that, it’s going based on the assumption that there is two shooters that can be in opposite places at once. Factors like lack of second shooter, lack of second vehicle, construction, delays, etc aren’t being considered when Bridal parties get ready at locations that are far apart from one another. It is incredibly helpful to the photographer, as well as us as the videographers, if both bridal parties are getting ready at the same location. This can take place at a hotel, a large property with multiple structures on site or in homes that are within a max of 10 minutes from each other. Doing this allows for the schedules created above, to run smoothly, effectively and in a timely manner. Jonny and I have had to drive, over an hour to get to the groomsmen coverage, and then back another half hour to get to the ceremony. Of course, the wedding couldn’t start without the groomsmen there, anyway, so we all arrived at the same, and we were able to capture everything at the starting time. However, that time would have been much better spent, capturing the wedding day, instead of driving to and from various locations.

Again, these are all just factors to consider when mapping out your wedding day schedule, and tools to help you maximize on the investment you’ve made in photo and video coverage. We hope these examples help equip you with the necessary timelines to consider, to get the best bang for your buck.

Happy Planning!
